The Role

Adult Leagues Coordinator organizes, coordinates, and administers USTA league programs played throughout the Northern California section. The role is responsible for organizational planning, execution, and completing important administrative duties. Provide exceptional customer service to players and others.

  • Provide excellent customer service to those inquiring about an adult leagues program question in a timely and professional manner.
  • Apply and explain league rules and regulations (e.g. USTA, Section, Friend at Court).
  • Understand and communicate the NTRP rating program including calculation methodology.
  • Work with national reports, input data into the NorCal CMS software system, and relay information to players as needed.
  • Coordinate and manage many aspects of league championship events, including site logistics, scheduling match play, coordinating staff and volunteers.
  • Recruit and maintain a database of volunteers.
  • Create online schedules for all leagues, including local league, playoffs and championships utilizing Section and National league management programs.
  • Work closely with marketing to maintain the USTA website for current league content.
  • Work proficiently in all software and database programs used in Adult Leagues including both National TennisLink and NorCal's league computer programs.
  • Host webinars and workshops to provide additional education for LACs, players and captains.
  • Maintain NorCal league database for accuracy, including calendars, team registrations, team rosters, and player information.
  • Understand the structure of all league programs and back-up other League Coordinators.
  • Provide support to Adult League Committee volunteers.
  • Administer rating and medical appeals and help to administer grievance and appeal submissions.
  • Create reports using large databases.
  • Coordinate referee and insurance requests from captains and players.
  • Respond to the needs of Local Area League Coordinators/Volunteers, club managers, adult players and captains.
  • Communicate constantly with current and potential league players in written and verbal form.
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned in service to adult competition programs.

Travel Obligations

  • Attending local and national staff training sessions and meetings as directed to stay updated on policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Ability to travel within the USTA Northern California Section and occasionally outside the Section for league events, meetings, or other relevant events as required.
  • Attend and supervise league events as assigned by your supervisor, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to standards.
  • Supervise Sectional Championship events in Northern California as needed.
  • Coordinate and attend meetings assigned by your supervisor, actively contributing to discussions and initiatives.
  • Must be available for travel, willing to work some weekends for league events, and ready to accommodate extra hours as necessary to meet organizational needs.

Who You Are

  • You reside in a SF Bay Area County or are in personal process of relocating to the Bay Area.
  • Proficient in completion of administrative tasks and adept at managing data effectively.
  • Competency in Google Suites and Microsoft Office; including Excel proficiency for efficient office and job operations.
  • Ability to perform light lifting and carrying; loading/unloading van with merchandise such as prizes, food, drinks, etc.
  • Ability and self-confidence to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with stakeholders with a focus on a high level of prior experience in customer service.
  • Ability to implement creative problem-solving strategies and handle or de-escalate conflicts effectively.
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, and meet deadlines.
  • Experience working at events with strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • BA/BS degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent work experience.

The expected range for the base salary for this position is $28.85 - $33.17 per hour depending on experience and reports to the Sr. Manager, Adult Competition.

This range does not include any additional pay or benefits for which a person may qualify. The actual base salary offered is determined by several variables, including, as appropriate, the applicant's qualifications for the position, the years of relevant experience, their unique skills, and the location from which they will be performing the job.
