The extent of staffing, length of day, and the duration of employment for the courses will depend on specific schedules, number of participants, and extent of funding. Qualifications: - Valid New Jersey Teaching Certificate or Certificate of Eligibility
- New Jersey Teacher of English as a Second Language or World Languages Certification preferred
- Candidates must have knowledge regarding Adult Learners, interactive teaching and lesson design
- Demonstrated knowledge of subject specialty and effective teaching methods
- Ability to maintain a positive learning environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status
- Must be resident of New Jersey or attain residency within one year unless exempted under the law
Additional Duties Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent. This position is governed by the collective bargaining agreement by and between the Board of Education and the Essex County Vocational Education Association. Compensation $50.25 per hour 2024-2025 contractual rate between the Board of Education and ECVEAThe Essex County Vocational and Technical High Schools are public schools supported by County, State and Federal Funds. There are five such programs operated by the Board of Education for the Vocational Schools in the County of Essex. These include four high schools and one adult center.
