The Advanced Practice Provider (APP), either an Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner (APNP) or a Physician Assistant (PA), will play a critical role in managing the clinical, operational, and administrative tasks associated with client care in our Residential Dual Diagnosis program. This position requires a high level of clinical expertise in a psychiatric or medical setting, focusing on delivering integrated, client-centered care, and program management.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Evaluations and Client Care:

Perform comprehensive initial intake assessments within 24 hours of client admission to determine the appropriate level of care.

Provide ongoing primary medical care and psychiatric evaluations as required.

Prescribe medications and manage therapeutic plans, ensuring treatments are medically necessary and appropriate.

Document all client interactions and treatment modifications in the facility's electronic medical records (EMR) system promptly.

Program Oversight and Development:

Engage in the development, evaluation, and refinement of clinical programs, assessing their effectiveness and operational efficiency.

Make recommendations for policy improvements and resource allocations to enhance program outcomes, liaising directly with the Director.

Interdisciplinary Team Collaboration:

Act as a key intermediary between medical, clinical, and support staff to foster seamless integrated client care.

Participate actively in therapy groups, family meetings, staff briefings, and other relevant activities, contributing expert knowledge and clinical perspectives.

Medication and Treatment Management:

Oversee the medication administration process, including verification, documentation, and secure management of prescription medications.

Coordinate and supervise internal doctor visits for medical psychiatric intake and reviews, according to the medical staff's schedules.

Client Advocacy and Engagement:

Ensure a supportive, welcoming environment for clients, familiarizing them with facility services and personnel.

Conduct regular evaluations of client progress, providing at least weekly updates for residential clients.

Manage the collection and processing of drug screens, and oversee the submission of prescriptions as needed.

Quality Assurance and Compliance:

Utilize and optimize the EMR for all client documentation and interdepartmental communications.

Maintain vigilant oversight of medical and mental status, reporting significant observations back to the clinical team.

Safeguard client rights and confidentiality, ensuring respectful and dignified treatment across all interactions.
