Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience. CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required within a reasonable period of time. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you'll participate in electrical requirements analysis, functional analysis and performance analysis (e.g. timing, power, etc.) for the design, integration and verification of electrical components, equipment and systems. You'll make an impact throughout the electrical development life cycle and your talent will be put to a world-class test.

Key Responsibilities

The Power Systems / Analog engineer will support the design, development and test of power and analog component designs as well as subsystem-level designs at GDMS that are required to support our various customers' missions.

Prefered:

  • The Power/Analog Engineer will be involved to support coordinating power requirements of Power interfaces of various platforms.
  • The engineer will be involved in PLC design and verification.
  • The engineer will be involved in the design of power supplies of various power rating.
  • The engineer will be involved in support of the design of power distributions AC and DC, as well as design, development and test of power and analog hardware.
  • The engineer will be involved in all the phases of power and analog design, from requirement review to production.
  • The engineer will Participate in power and control related documentation, design, investigation, evaluation, qualification, and acceptance
  • The engineer will participate in peer review, mechanical drawings reviews, ICDs, source control drawing generation and review.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Be an individual contributor within the electrical engineering design team that develops Hardware Configuration Items and Subsystem Level electrical design
  • Exercise creative thinking and ideation to advance our business performance
  • Deliver innovative, flexible, integrated solutions to meet customers' changing business needs
  • Support and engage in programs, projects and practices behind the GDMS culture and strategy, and comply with all policies and procedures
  • Follow industry and department trends and developments to ensure GDMS's services are consistent with, and/or superior to, industry best practices
  • Interface with vendors for product development
  • Interface with other GDMS engineering disciplines
  • Provide direction/support to Manufacturing as required
  • Attend formal design reviews as both a Presenter and Reviewer
  • Interface with the local Navy office
  • Apply GDMS Common Process, SSP ODs
  • Occasional required travel to Field Sites, Installation Sites, and Vendors
  • Provide occasional field Installation direction/support to sub-contractors
  • Willing to occasionally work in various indoor/outdoor environments during installations, possibly during off-shifts

Basic Qualifications

Candidate for this position must possess the following qualifications. Candidates must have experience specifying, designing and verifying analog components, and developing subsystem-level power designs. The Power Systems / Analog Designer position requires a bachelor's degree in the Electrical or Computer Engineering field or the equivalent and at least three to five years of related work experience. Applicants with a master's degree and a minimum of zero to two years of related experience are also eligible. Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required within 6 months of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

  • Ability to simulate designs using Paladin, Mentor Graphics or equivalent tools
  • Able to work in teams
  • Able to work multiple programs concurrently (multi-tasking)
  • Strong Communications Skills
