Atlantic Health System is Seeking an Advance Practice Clinician to Support Gastroenterology in Summit, NJ

Atlantic Health System, one of New Jersey's largest non-profit healthcare systems, is seeking a Gastroenterology Advanced Practice Clinician (NP or PA) to join a growing GI practice in Summit, NJ, affiliated with Overlook Medical Center. The outpatient practice is brand-new and features primary care, as well as other subspecialties for patient convenience and clinician support.

Responsibilities

  • Advocate for patients, family members, and nursing personnel
  • Support policy and services that advocate for patient rights and optimal environments of healthcare
  • Develop plans of care and implementation of treatment
  • Perform evidence-based interventions consistent with patient/family needs
  • Evaluate effectiveness of interventions for resolution or preventing patient care problems
  • Document appropriately in the medical record; discharge summaries for distribution to collaborating and referring physicians
  • Manage and assist to meet health education needs of patient and families
  • Initiate consultation and referrals to appropriate specialty providers when indicated
  • Collaborate with other disciplines in consultation, teaching, management, and research activities to improve outcomes in nursing practice and enhance the healthcare environment
  • Prioritize daily tasks and assignments
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for improvement to ensure patient safety and quality outcomes
  • Engage in critical analysis of own practice experience and the medical literature for the purposes of self and practice improvement
  • Pursue and participate in formal and independent learning activities to enhance knowledge, clinical competency, and professional development
