Advanced Practice Provider, COM (80% FTE), Department of Emergency Medicine Founded in 1819, the University of Cincinnati ranks among the nation's best urban public research universities Home to more than 50,000 students, 11,000 faculty and staff and 340,000 alumni, UCbines a Top 35 public research university with a physical setting The New York Times calls the most ambitious campus design program in the country With the launch of Next Lives Here, the Cincinnati Innovation District, a $100 million JobsOhio investment, nine straight years of record enrollment, worldwide leadership in cooperative education, a dynamic academic health center and entry into the Big 12 Conference, UC's momentum has never been stronger UC's annual budget tops $165 billion and its endowment totals $18 billion The University's overall regional economic impact exceeds $106 billion, paving the way for the future of Cincinnati Job Overview As one of the oldest medical schools in the country, the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine (COM) has a reputation for training best-in-class health care professionals and developing cutting-edge procedures and research that improves the health and clinical care of patients In partnership with the UC Health academic healthcare system and Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, College of Medicine's faculty are transforming the world of medicine every day The College of Medicine, Department of Emergency Medicine, Division of Hospital Medicine is seeking to fill a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant position at West Chester Hospital This position will provide physician support in the admission process for a dedicated 24/7 hospitalist group This position may provide post operative medical consults and provide cross cover care for the inpatient units in the hospital Essential Functions Provide advanced medical care across the continuum of services to patients in the inpatient service areas Perform physical exam based upon age and patient history as per the Standard Care Arrangement with a collaborating physician Orders, interprets and evaluates laboratory tests and other diagnostic studies to assess patient's clinical problems and health care needs Develops a treatment plan in collaboration with the physician and members of the multidisciplinary care team May prescribe and monitor medications as allowed by state and UC Health prescriptive authority As requested, actively develop, and participate in providing evidence-based education presentations and other learning activities for diverse disciplines Participate in Medical Team Rounds Actively involved with Quality Management, data collection and performance improvement initiatives Other activities and/or duties assigned to achieve the overall mission of the position within the Department Minimum Requirements Nurse Practitioner: Required Education Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program Required Trainings/Certifications Active Ohio APRN license with prescriptive authority Active Board Certification in appropriate nursing specialty Required Experience Three (3) years nursing experience Additional related work experience may be required depending on specialty/sub-specialty - OR - Physician Assistant: Required Education Master's Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program Required Trainings/Certifications Active Ohio Physician Assistant license with prescriptive authority Certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants Required Experience Minimum of one (1) year experience is required Additional related work experience may be required depending on specialty/sub-specialty Physical Requirements/Work Environment Sitting -
