In addition, this position will be eligible for additional benefits consistent with the role. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to: scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation. Our Physician Assistant Department plays a critical role in provider clinical operations, ensuring exceptional patient care and fostering a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment that supports our academic mission.Position Overview:We are seeking an experienced and compassionate In-Patient Physician Assistant (PA) to join our team. The PA will work in a dynamic and multidisciplinary environment, providing pre- and post-operative care to a diverse population of orthopedic patients. This position requires a balance of medical and surgical expertise, ensuring the highest level of patient care.Job Responsibilities:Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive pre- and post-operative care to orthopedic patients.Manage both surgical and medical patient care issues effectively.Perform complete and accurate history and physical exams (H&Ps).Conduct post-operative checks, ensuring thorough assessments of patients.Participate in scheduled shifts, which may include day and overnight rotations, as assigned in advance.Perform additional H&Ps as delegated by management.General Requirements:For Physician Assistants (PA):Bachelor's or master's degree from an accredited PA program.Active New York State PA license.NCCPA Board Certification as a PA.DEA registration.ACLS/BLS certification.Infection Control certificate.For Nurse Practitioners (NP):Master's or doctoral degree from an accredited nursing program with a specialty in Family Practice (FNP).Active licensure as both an NP and RN in the state of New York.Board Certification as an NP.DEA registration.ACLS/BLS certification.Infection Control certificate.Non-Discrimination PolicyHospital for Special Surgery is committed to providing high quality care and skilled, compassionate, reliable service to our community in a safe and healing environment.
