Job Description The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, UNLV Student Wellness, Student Health and Faculty Staff Treatment [R0144434] ROLE of the POSITION The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) serves as a clinical healthcare provider for a diverse population on UNLVs Maryland Parkway campus and if indicated, at the Las Vegas Medical District. As a provider in the Student Health Center (SHC), the APRN acts as a healthcare team member and provides direct patient care to students with acute, recurrent, and/or chronic health conditions. The APRN systematically assesses, diagnoses, treats, prescribes, and educates patients regarding various medical and/or psychosocial conditions according to accreditation and professional standards, as well as follows up with patients and refers to specialists in the community when indicated The APRN acknowledges the unique characteristics of each patient and provides respectful, culturally competent, and professional clinical services. This APRN position supports the health and mental health of UNLV students, thereby allowing them to succeed in their academic pursuits. The SHC and Faculty and Staff Treatment (FAST) Center are accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) and are part of the Student Wellness (SW) Unit at UNLV, which includes the Student Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), Behavioral Health, the Care Center, Wellness Education and Health Promotion, Disability Resource Center, Military and Veterans Services, and Office of Student Conduct departments. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS This position requires a Masters Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and National Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner. All candidates must pass a background screening. Employees of the UNLV Student Wellness Center must be in compliance with our Employee Exposure to Communicable Disease (Prevention of) Policy and Immunization Compliance Manager. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS One year clinical experience in ambulatory care, college health, or a community health setting.
