We are looking for an APRN for Family Planning Program in Laconia, NH to join our team right now! Position Summary : The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) is responsible for providing medical services within the New Hampshire practice laws for APRN's to patients in the agency Family Planning, RESPECT Teen Clinic, Prenatal, and HIV HCV program services under the program's medical protocol and procedures. Position is part time, up to 20 hours per week. Essential Duties and Responsibilities : Provides services in accordance with Agency medical protocol, policies and procedures, New Hampshire Family Planning Clinical Services Guidelines and Program Requirements for Title X Funded Family Planning Projects. Implements services in compliance with the Providing Quality Family Planning Services Recommendations of CDC and the U.S. Office of Population Affairs, CDC STD Guidelines, current U.S. Medical Eligibility Criteria for Contraceptive Use, CDC and U.S. Selected Practices for Contraceptive Use and current ACOG guidelines Secures and records a complete medical history, including obstetrical, gynecologic, contraceptive, medical, surgical, family health and psychosocial. Performs appropriate screening physical examinations with specific emphasis on the reproductive system, including breast and complete pelvic examination, obtaining materials for STD investigation, cytologic and vaginal smears in accordance with medical protocol and collaborates with the physician in appropriate treatment and disposition. Provides anticipatory guidance to patients regarding preconception counseling and the development of reproductive life plan. Orders laboratory tests and/or obtains specimens in accordance with medical protocol. Discriminates between normal and abnormal findings on the screening physical assessments and refers to the physician for evaluation or supervision. Interprets findings of gynecological exam and recognizes deviation from normal in relation to possible malignancy or benign conditions requiring medical treatment Counsels patients in all methods of contraception and instructs in the use of particular methods of contraception in accordance with medical protocol. Prescribes and dispenses pharmaceuticals in compliance with current regulations and rules under the State of New Hampshire Board of Pharmacy Limited Retail Drug Distribution for Public Health Clinics and Agency protocols. Provides Long Acting Contraceptive methods as appropriate. Adjusts medications and treatments as needed in compliance with scope of practice. Provides continuity of health care promotion and follow-up services through referral to and consultation with other health disciplines, groups and agencies. Establishes the status of the present pregnancy, identifies risks, present or potential, and refers for prenatal care. Requests and/or performs diagnostic procedures with appropriate guidance and consultation with the Medical Director. Provides health education regarding the development of pregnancy, including physiologic changes in mother and fetus, dietary, substance abuse and other education prior to referral. Assists in the development of new programs and program policy and procedure. Participates in staff training programs and staff development. CAPBM PART TIME BENEFITS Paid Time Off Paid Holidays - 12 per year Requirements Qualifications Needed for Position: Experience and Skill Requirements: The following experience and skills are considered essential: At least 2 years of prior related experience required, providing reproductive health and community/preventative health programming to women and men. Strong desire to work in community and preventive health programs. Ability to work effectively as part of a health care team. Ability to communicate effectively with people of all ages and to varying economic, cultural and educational backgrounds. Education Requirements: The following education requirements are considered essential: Certificate from an accredited educational institution indicating completion of an approved Advanced Practice Registered Nurse course of study for Obstetrical-Gynecological, Women's Health or Family Practice. Current license to practice as an APRN in the State of New Hampshire in accordance with RSA 326-B: Nurse Practice Act. Current certification from the National Association on specialty area as a Nurse Practitioner.
