Career track sales position
The Palm Beach County based newspaper The Coastal Star is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic advertising salesperson to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills to effectively engage with customers, promote our publication and sell advertising in the local community.
Sales and Promotions:
- Actively sell newspaper and digital advertising to the local community through various channels, including in-person, email and by phone.
- The candidate needs to be able to make in-person sales calls from Palm Beach to Boca Raton. Must have a valid driver's license and a working, insured vehicle.
- Work with supervisors to develop and implement promotional strategies to attract new advertisers and retain existing ones.
Customer Engagement:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to understand their needs and preferences.
- Provide excellent customer service, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; further education in sales, marketing, or communications is a plus.
- Previous experience in sales or customer service, preferably in the media or retail industry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Familiarity with common business software applications.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
