Dedicated to Excellence, Committed to ServiceAdvertising Writing EditorThe Advertising Editor ensures that all Advertising content is high quality, following industry-standard copywriting and editorial trends. The Editor checks each piece for consistency and appropriate tone, verifying each piece communicates in the clearest way and engages its readers. The Editor also evaluates previously published content and maintains the ministry Style Guide.Ensure QualityStay up to date on current copywriting and editorial trends and ensure that pieces match industry-standard quality. Revise content as needed to make sure the piece meets both ministry and industry-standard expectations.Maintain Consistency and ToneEnsure content strategy in advertising pieces and campaigns are consistent throughout all channels and presents a clear message. Review copy and determines if the tone of all pieces is appropriate to fit the recipients of the advertisement. Collaborate as needed to verify that tone fits the ministry's ideals and standards.Maintain the Style GuideUpdate and maintain the accuracy of the Advertising Style Guide to have a complete resource for reference. Keep ministry style in agreement with Chicago Manual of Style standards. Oversee necessary approvals for Style Guide changes.Evaluate Published ContentStay current in knowledge of previously published content (Ex. website) and regularly evaluate for basic accuracy pertaining to event or product details. Evaluate content strategy direction only during digital redesigns.FLSA Status - Scanning (Non-exempt)EducationBA: English (Required), MA: EnglishWork Experience1+ years in professional writing, 5+ years in professional writingPhysical Requirements and SkillsCopywriting, Detailed, Editing Process, Microsoft Office, Operate standard office equipment, Professional Mentoring, Professional Writing, Support Tools, Written and Verbal Communications (Inactive)Ideal candidates must be born-again Christians and must be dedicated to training young people for serving God; and must desire to educate students based on biblical values and be committed to excellence as a Christian educator who glorifies Christ as the source of all wisdom and knowledge.
