Why it matters:This work allows clients to identify potential contamination before it impacts their products and helps them feel confident that their products meet their quality standards and are safe for consumption in the market.Role summary: Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned clients and internal projects relating to Matrix Sciences Risk Management Solutions Advisory Group. Work directly with General Manager, RMS and RMS team members to ensure client satisfaction when meeting client, internal, and overall organizational goals.Essential FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Provide client consultation and serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients.
  • Responsible for managing assigned clients including coordination with project team members and other lines of business as relevant to ensure delivery of superior customer service, timely project execution.
  • Time keeping, invoicing and expense management.
  • Responsible for ensuring assigned client program(s) meet client's project objectives and goals.
  • Participate in development, implementation, and revisions of related food safety policies for assigned client program(s).
  • Develop and deliver presentations to clients, manufacturers, trade associations, regulatory agencies, and other interested parties, as requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
General Responsibilities
  • Provide assessment and advice to Company's clients on food regulations, food science-related questions, and/or food safety risks.
  • Manage client projects, including tracking progress, time, costs, invoicing, using Company's systems.
  • Research and write client memos, reports, and presentations.
  • Develop checklists, tools, articles, and other resources as requested.
  • Attend business unit and Company meetings as requested.
Required Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma.
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental health, food science, food technology, dietetics, nutrition or other related scientific area OR Bachelor's degree plus an RS/REHS certification, CP-FS Certification, or equivalent professional certification in food safety.
  • Strongly preferred: Microbiological background with understanding of testing, organisms and/or practical experience with microbiological risk in manufacturing.
  • A minimum of five (5) years relevant work experience in food safety program management.
  • Work experience with industry, corporate, third-party or regulatory food safety programs.
  • Effective oral communication, exceptional attention to detail and excellent organization and multi-tasking skills.
  • Food Safety Education / Training: e.g., Preventive Controls for Human Food, Foreign Supplier Verification Program, Produce Safety, HACCP.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Ability to travel domestically or internationally up to 50% of the time.
  • This role is an individual contributor but may lead projects with clients and involve leading people/teams on a project without direct authority.
  • Positive outlook with the ability to adapt to a changing environment and ability to effectively work remotely.

Supervisory ResponsibilityNone.Work EnvironmentThis job operates in an office or home office environment (to be agreed upon by employee's supervisor).Physical DemandsThis role is not static and may involve standing or walking while performing client assessments or attending conferences/tradeshows. Position Type and Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position, salaried exempt. Work Relationships
  • Internal: This role will support the General Manager, RMS and other internal partners and will include interactions with the internal Advisory team and others in the Company as needed.
  • External: This role requires professional interactions with Company's clients and business partners and management of client confidential information necessitating confidentiality of all Company and client information.
TravelTravel is expected for this position. Average travel may be as high as 50% and may fluctuate as business demands dictate. What we offer:
