For more information, please go to www.rockpa.org.ROLE OVERVIEWThe Advisor has a portfolio of assigned fiscal sponsorship projects and is responsible for partnering with project leaders and funders to help drive toward desired project outcomes including leading relationships supported by other team members to handle service transactions related to Finance, HR, and IT. This role supports the messaging and strategy of assigned projects. The Advisor may attend staff and donor advisory group meetings to ensure project outcomes and successful risk mitigation and advise on operations. The Advisor is a lead point of contact for projects and helps achieve RPA's mission by incubating and scaling critical philanthropic projects and supporting collaborative grantmaking. The Advisor will participate in philanthropic sector activities and will stay abreast of trends in philanthropy and participate in conferences and speaking engagements as appropriate. Role AccountabilitiesPORTFOLIO MANAGEMENTPlan and manage the delivery of projects within an area of existing or developing professional expertise, using an appropriate project management methodology to give assurance that the intended outcomes of projects are achieved.PROJECT SCOPE DEFINITIONPlan and lead the delivery of a range of information gathering, analysis, and stakeholder consultation activities and specify, negotiate, and agree on project deliverables of RPA to project teams.PROJECT RISK AND ISSUE MANAGEMENTManage identification of risks, issues, dependencies, and constraints associated with the project, escalating these where appropriate. Where necessary, develop, agree on, and implement solutions to overcome these.BUSINESS ANALYSISAssess issues, organizations, and projects in order to make process improvement recommendations to clients to support their philanthropic efforts. BUSINESS DEVELOPMENTSupport business development opportunities through the cultivation of key external relationships, representing the organization in desirable networks, and generating proposals and related content as needed. COMPLEXITY AND PROBLEM-SOLVING
  • Works with full competence to assess and execute various components of client engagement across a portfolio of clients, skillfully managing competing priorities, deadlines, and multiple projects.
  • Able to manage within time and resource constraints.
  • Able to explore and develop a solid understanding of external developments or emerging issues and contribute to the evaluation of their potential impact on, or usefulness to, the client's goals.
  • Exhibits advanced mental mindset associated with assessing the facts and circumstances of the current situation and/or environment and making the appropriate/innovative adjustments to thinking and work habits to thrive in any scenario.
  • Able to work independently or with minimal ongoing supervision, but also able to function collaboratively as part of a broader client team as needed.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
  • A Bachelor's and graduate work or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Previous professional experience in the philanthropic or related field with increasing responsibility and proven effectiveness in working with Grantmakers, programs, grant seekers, and non-profit organizations in content creation and or research (Over 3 years to 6 years)
  • Skills/Knowledge: An understanding of the broad spectrum of private philanthropy, including trends in giving and key issues.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be willing to travel for client work as needed.
  • The role is hybrid, requiring the candidate to be located within a practical commuting range to one of our three offices (New York City, Chicago, or San Francisco).

Compensation & BenefitsRockefeller Philanthropy Advisors offers a competitive compensation and benefits package including health coverage, retirement benefits, paid sick leave, vacation and holidays, tuition reimbursement and access to professional development resources.The salary range is one component of the total compensation package for employees.Pay Range: $119,500 - $126,000 salary per year.Application ProcessApplications will be reviewed as received.
