AEGIS Weapon System Aegis System Equipped Vessel Senior Systems Engineer

Contingent upon prime contractor approval.

Purpose:

* Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate need for an AEGIS Weapon System Systems Engineer. In this role you will be part of a talented and mission oriented professional team of federal engineers, active-duty Naval Officers and Contract staff who are willing to roll up their sleeves and get sea-based missile defense capability out to the Fleet. You will also be part of a team of some of the best and brightest Engineers and scientists our country has to offer.

Job Description:

* Provide technical support by reviewing changes and participating in Working Groups as needed

* Provide integration and validation support of mechanical, electrical, and integrated systems

* Program management support for program lifecycle cost, program planning, schedule and risk management

* Provide expertise and support to the lead for Aegis System Equipped Vessel (ASEV) Platform Integration

* Assist in the effort to integrate shipboard (i.e., hull, mechanical, electrical) systems and design with the combat systems suite design and installation scheme

* Focus on design, documentation, data exchange, interface resolution

* Support installation and checkout of combat systems

* Interact with systems integrator, combats systems developers, warfare centers, NAVSEA, Japanese Navy and Japanese Shipyards

* Used advanced tools to address action items, data exchange and knowledge management

* Prepare briefings and data for use by Platform Integration team and ASEV Program Office

* Support fast paced, data intensive environment to include IPTs, international meetings, technical interchange sessions, working groups and program reviews focused on delivering a combat ready BMD ship

* CONUS and OCONUS travel required

Qualifications

* Must have a Master's degree in STEM with 12+ years of experience in engineering for missile defense related programs.

* Must be able to work independently and/or leads teams to analyze and resolve problems.

* Must have the capability to develop and clearly present reports and presentations to senior management-level personnel.

* Must be a pro-active, self-starter.

* Mastery of MS Office suite and familiarity with collaborative tools such as Jira, Confluence or Teams

* Shipboard experience to include operations, maintenance, Aegis, System test, system installation, shipyard material inspections or certifications.

Desired Qualifications

* Strong communication skills to include oral, written and briefing

* Works independently, applying engineering rigor to analyze and resolve problems within a fast-paced, dynamic environment, preferred.

* Ability to present complex information and concepts to Leaders at various levels, preferred.

* Active TS/SCI Clearance

* Prior experience with Aegis Weapons Systems

* Japanese language fluency or experience with Japanese Navy desired.

* Experience with Missile Systems Engineering

* Technical experience in one of the following areas: Fleet operations, systems engineering, missile systems, Aegis Qualifications, etc.

Security Requirements:

* Must have an Active DoD Secret clearance and the ability to maintain a clearance.

Travel Requirements:

* Up to 25%

Physical Requirements:

* Must be able to work in an office environment

* Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods, moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another, communicating with others to exchange information, repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers, light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds
