SUMMARYBartenders prepare and serve drinks to customers in lounge and restaurant. Prepare standard mixed drinks and pour wine and beer. They must be able to prepare drinks quickly, accurately, and without waste. Bartenders are responsible for taking orders directly from guests, as well as preparing drinks for servers in the dining room. Also serves food to guests seated in the bar.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepares alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for bar and fine dining restaurant
- Bartenders must be sure guests meet age requirements for the purchase of alcohol. Check identification and make sure our customers are not over-consuming
- Collects payment from guests accurately. Handle cash accurately and give correct change. Records all transactions in the Micros system.
- Provides, in a timely matter, excellent service to guests at the bar while keeping up a service bar for the dining room as well
- Keeps bar and surrounding areas neat and clean
- Maintains back bar and shelves so that they are presentable and bottle labels faced to guests
- Sees that all glassware and utensils are clean and polished
- Has excellent menu knowledge and general knowledge of property
- Restocks bar with product and garnishes at the end of each shift for next bartender
- Polish the glassware and utensils before use
- Must understand and abide by environmental practices of the resort
- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Must be 18 years of age, as required by law
- Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent
- TIPS certified or obtained within 90 days of employment
- Strong knowledge of restaurant operations, service procedures and function
- Must have above average knowledge of beer, wine and liquor and common drink recipes
- Must have previous work experience within an upscale high volume establishment

Has skill in establishing and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and guests. All Aerie positions require a team player attitude. Must understand and comply with all departmental and company rules, regulations, policies and procedures. A fine dining Bartender must be able to handle difficulties with guests and staff alike. Bartenders need excellent memory and organization skills, ensuring that all guests receive the correct orders. He or she must be willing to learn new concepts and ideas.TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDSPhysical demands for this position include lifting heavy trays, standing for extending periods of time, and excellent hand-eye coordination. Other physical demands include being able to walk for long periods of time without rest or sitting down, especially on a very busy night. Balance is also a must for any Bartender, along with the ability to multi-task several projects at once. Must be able to climb stairs and walk on uneven surfaces on an occasional basis. Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 50lbs at shoulder height. Must be able to bend, squat, push, and pull frequently. Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand & arm movements frequently; squeezing and overhead reaching occasionally. TYPICAL MENTAL DEMANDSAble to deal with stress associated with fast-paced work environment. Make judgment decisions and adapt to changing work situations: grasping and applying new ideas. Must have good communication with various personalities at all levels and the ability to deal effectively and interact well with guests and coworkers. Must have a passion for creating an exceptional experience for all guests.WORKING CONDITIONSThis position is located inside, with occasional loud noise levels. The temperature of the restaurant are controlled by thermostats that run the heating and cooling systems. Must be able to work 3-6 days a week including ALL holidays, nights, weekends and Sunday mornings.COMMENTSNative American Preference will apply.
