Job Description:
Job DescriptionPay Range: $85,000 - $140,000Position Summary Under the guidance of the Business Unit Manager, collaborate with design engineering, plant operations and outside sales representatives to provide specification review, cost estimating, proposal development, project management and field service support. Primary point of contact for requests for quotation, production schedule updates, requested expedites, and contractual negotiations. Develops and maintains key contacts within customer organizations while developing a working knowledge of current company markets, products and policies. Responsibilities
  • New business development:
  • Identify new business opportunities for target programs and/or customers.
  • Develop and manage relationships with key customer contacts in engineering, sales and procurement.
  • Conduct customer visits, prepare and provide general and opportunity specific presentations.
  • Represent the Company at trade shows, operator conferences, and industry events.
  • Take ownership in and shepherd new business through the Company's OEM and Customer Support Product Realization Processes up to award:
  • Write business cases and commercial proposals.
  • Lead capture team, including development of Technical and Commercial Proposals, and conduct gate reviews.
  • Manage customer accounts:
  • Complete administration of the customer fulfillment cycle from RFQ/order receipt through delivery and payment.
  • Manage major OEM customer accounts, including commercial and defense air framers and system integrators.
  • Negotiate lead times, delivery schedules, and pricing within authorized limits.
  • Facilitate collaboration across departments to resolve issues that may cause delivery delays.
  • Prepare customer quotations by determining market pricing and stating terms based on company standards.
  • Provide market research and forecasting support as requested.
  • Develop a strong knowledge of existing Tactair markets, competitors, products and technology.
  • Support development of the Company's Sales and Marketing Plan.
  • Complete other projects and duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
  • This position requires either a US Person (as defined in applicable export regulations) or a non-US person who is eligible to obtain required export authorization.
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, or a related field, and 5 years of relevant experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills including communicating technical information.
  • Able to analyze and interpret costing information and the intricate details of contracts, purchase orders, etc.
  • Attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Ability to travel as required, typically 1 week per month.
  • Knowledge of export controls is a plus.

  • The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas which requires the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection, and proper footwear.
