Vale Group has partnered with a company in the aerospace & defense industry, based in Edgewood, NY, who is actively searching for an experienced Aerospace Sheet Metal Assembly Technician to work onsite for an opportunity paying $25 to $33 per hour, based on experience. This role is crucial for performing a variety of assembly, installation, and maintenance operations, which are vital in the fabrication of aircraft lots, lines, and major sheet metal assemblies. Requirements of the Aerospace Sheet Metal Assembly Technician: •3-5 years of minimum experience in a similar role as a sheet metal assembly technician, preferably in an aerospace/aviation manufacturing environment. •High School Diploma or equivalent •Experience with assembly and subassembly aircraft components. •Must be capable of performing numerous physical activities as is required Responsibilities of the Aerospace Sheet Metal Assembly Technician: •Perform structural assembly and riveting operations involving details, sheet metal parts, extrusions, castings, and forgings in the fabrication of minor, sub, and major assemblies •Conduct fitting and rework operations to meet production standards •Utilize production jigs and fixtures for assembly operations where accessibility is manageable •Employ tools like drills, squeezers, riveters, shears, files, taps, reams, and drills to close tolerances •Check work for completeness and accuracy; maintain Quality, Schedule, and Cost standards •Work from Blueprints, Work Instructions, and Engineering Specifications •Teach and mentor less experienced mechanics •Notify supervision of any issues with equipment, materials, and product quality •Adhere to all applicable Environmental, Safety, Health, FOD, and Operations Procedures/Directives •Perform additional duties as required, including sealant application and production accountability tasks If this sounds like you or someone you know, click Apply or share the job today!
