AESC is headquartered in Japan and has battery manufacturing locations in Japan, UK, and the U.S. We are currently seeking candidates to fill a Manufacturing Technician role to support our Florence, South Carolina plant. Job Summary As a Quality Technologist, you will be responsible for quality testing and inspections of batteries and battery components. The Quality Technologist will work closely to support the quality engineering team with investigations of manufacturing and warranty concerns. You will use your skills in quality assurance to influence and inspire change while ensuring that safety and quality are maintained. As a key member of AESC US LLC, you will play a crucial role in advancing our mission to lead in full-value-chain battery solutions for a sustainable future. Reporting to the Quality Supervisor, you will perform daily testing to help ensure product quality and be a key resource for assisting with judgment of quality concerns. Your work within the Quality Team will directly impact our strategic goals and contribute to our position as a global leader in battery technology.Job Functions: The following job function statements describe the general nature and level of work being performed. - Analyze and resolve complex issues and provide alternative solutions as necessary. Influence leadership on specific recommendations for current operations and future development.
- Perform quality checks on various battery components.
- Prepare and analyze samples utilizing wet chemistry methods.
- Operate a variety of advanced laboratory equipment such as HPLC, GCMS, ICP-OES, optical and digital microscopes, cycle testing equipment, SEM, and CT scanners.
- Repair, maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment.
- Failure analysis of manufacturing defects and warranty parts
- Train peers on Quality testing methods and requirements.
- Analysis of material and product to confirm conformance to specifications
What You Need
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline (Chemistry, Biology, Physics, etc.)
- Two or more years of manufacturing or other laboratory experience
- Experience with lab equipment such as GCMS, HPLC, ICP-OES or Dimensional measuring equipment (CMM, OMM, 3D microscope)
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite of software
- Understands and follows all standards of IATF16949 and VDA 6.3 quality standards.
- Understands and follows all standards of ISO14001 environmental standards.
What is Nice to Have ?
- Experience reporting and presenting technical laboratory results.
- Experience maintaining and calibrating laboratory equipment.
- Experience with CT or X-ray operation and analysis is a plus.
- Certification or experience in ISO/IATF/VDA standards.
