Hybrid/ New York, NY Salary Range: $85,000 - $95,000 The AFC Program Governance Unit (AFC-PGU) is a subunit within Apple Bank's (the Bank) AFC Department. The AFC-PGU is a second line function that acts as a primary subject matter expert (SME) concerning AFC strategic priorities, governance documentation (e.g., policies, procedures, charters), management information analytics and reporting, as well as regulatory and audit exam management. The AFC Program Governance Analyst is a member of the AFC-PGU and is responsible for the daily operations within the AFC sub-unit. Specifically, the AFC Program Governance Analyst will assist with the execution of key AFC strategic priorities focused on regulatory and internal audit oversight and board and senior management governance. Additionally, the AFC Program Governance Analyst will work with the AFC sub-units to ensure operational processes comply with the Bank's AFC Policy & Program and related subunit procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The AFC Program Governance Analyst will:
- Partner with the AFC Department subunits to review operational processes to ensure compliance with their respective procedures.
- Conduct reviews of AFC key program elements and formulate recommendations for enhancement and efficiency, as directed by the Head of AFC Program Governance.
- Compile and review AFC metrics to identify key trends/risks for reporting to appropriate management level Committees.
- Prepare meeting minutes for Management and Board Level Committee meetings as directed by the Head of AFC Program Governance.
- Assist with the coordination of major annual projects and ad-hoc projects (including but not limited to NYSDFS Part 504 Certification, model validations and tuning optimization exercises) as directed by the Head of AFC Program Governance.
- Receive, log, and consolidate information requests from the Bank's internal and external auditors or other consultants, and coordinate with appropriate internal stakeholders to provide responses for review by the Head of AFC Program Governance.
- Track and monitor program issues/observations and coordinate with stakeholders, as necessary, for remediation documentation.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The AFC Program Governance Analyst will also:
- Apply independent judgment in the identification and escalation of key financial crime risks.
- Display a high level of professional aptitude and standards.
- Recommend improvements to process in areas of efficiency, control, and work product.
- Participate in committee meetings, as necessary.
- Perform ad hoc project support, as required.
SKILLS, EDUCATION, & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in banking compliance, with a strong emphasis on BSA/AML regulations and requirements.
- Ability to interact with all levels of management, including the Board of Directors.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills with strong focus on attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-fostered, multi-tasking environment.
- Professional certification (i.e. CAMS) helpful.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications helpful.
