As the Community Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our affordable housing properties, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing exceptional service to our residents.
- Manage all aspects of property operations, including leasing, maintenance, and financial performance
- Develop and implement strategies to maintain high occupancy rates and resident satisfaction
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal affordable housing regulations
- Oversee and mentor on-site staff, promoting a collaborative and inclusive work environment
- Develop and manage property budgets, monitoring expenses and maximizing revenue
- Implement and maintain effective marketing strategies to attract qualified residents
- Coordinate with maintenance staff to ensure timely completion of repairs and property upkeep
- Foster positive relationships with residents, addressing concerns and resolving conflicts promptly
- Collaborate with local community organizations and government agencies to enhance services for residents
- Prepare and submit accurate and timely reports to management and stakeholders
- Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in affordable housing management
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years' experience with affordable housing programs, including LIHTC, HUD programs, and other relevant initiatives
- Affordable Housing Accreditation (e.g., HCCP, HCP-E, COS, BOS, TCS, CPO) or other applicable designations in affordable programs
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar leadership role within residential property management
- High School diploma or equivalency certificate required; Bachelor's degree in Business, Real Estate, or related field preferred
- Certification or designation from an accredited organization preferred (ARM, CAM, CAPS, COS, CPM, MPM, RMP, etc.)
- Valid Driver's License and good driving record
- Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing in English
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office, Google Apps, and property management software
- In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal housing regulations, with particular familiarity with Florida housing laws and market trends
- Excellent financial management and budgeting skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse populations
- Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on customer service and resident satisfaction
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively to meet deadlines and achieve organizational goals
