- Performs regular and comprehensive inspections of multifamily affordable housing units, including apartments, common areas, and building exteriors, to ensure they meet safety, health, and building code standards.
- Prepares detailed reports on inspection findings, including identifying violations, maintenance issues, and areas needing improvement. Provide clear, actionable recommendations for repairs or improvements.
- Ensures that all properties comply with relevant local, state, and federal regulations, including HUD standards, building codes, and fair housing laws.
- Collaborates with property managers and maintenance teams to address and resolve identified issues. Track and follow up on corrective actions to ensure timely resolution.
- Addresses concerns and complaints from residents regarding property conditions and safety. Provide clear explanations and updates on inspection findings and resolutions.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date records of inspections, repairs, and follow-up actions. Ensure all documentation is complete and compliant with regulatory requirements.
- Offers guidance and training to property management staff on inspection standards and best practices to ensure ongoing compliance and property upkeep.
Qualifications & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in housing inspection, property management, or a related field, with a focus on multifamily affordable housing preferred.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Housing Quality Standards (HQS), International Code Council (ICC) certifications) are highly desirable.
