Africa & Middle East LiaisonWorld Help, a Christian humanitarian organization serving the physical and spiritual needs of impoverished communities around the world, is looking to a hire an Africa and Middle East Liaison to serve as the link between World Help and our global partners by cultivating long-term relationships, conducting site visits, monitoring, and evaluating partner programs/accountability, researching applicable global events, and recruiting new partners.Whoever is taking on this role must exhibit exceptional interpersonal communication, a strong cultural knowledge of Africa and the Middle East, and excellent organizational skills in order to be selected for the Africa and Middle East Liaison position. - 50% - Partner Communication and Relationship Management - Time will be dedicated to establishing rapport, building mutual trust, and coordinating the implementation, accountability, and reporting needed for successful programs and projects.
- 30% - Project and Program Management - Time will be dedicated to administrative processes such as synthesizing, organizing, and tracking project details, finances, disbursements, and updates.
- 20% - Internal Communication and Collaboration - Time will be dedicated to serving other teams by providing requested information and expertise.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop, cultivate, and maintain meaningful relationships with every partner organization and its key staff within a designated region. Communicate with key staff through various channels as needed such as e-mail, phone, social media, and video calls. Conduct in-person visits to strengthen the partnership.
- In collaboration with the Director of International Partnerships, monitor and evaluate each partner and their programs to determine effectiveness, accountability, and strategic fit. Maintain frequent communication with the Director about all partner issues, project statuses, and opportunities.
- Conduct site visits to partner programs for the purpose of establishing trust, evaluating performance, and identifying challenges/potential areas for growth.
- Assist the Director of Humanitarian Aid with site visits for Gifts-in-Kind program.
- Serve as an expert on the cultural and geopolitical context of the countries within portfolio. Develop the knowledge and expertise to effectively speak with authority on these topics within the organization and externally with donors. Engage with global media to stay informed about current events within each country.
- Coordinate with partners to assess beneficiary and organizational needs, discuss potential solutions, and implement relevant World Help initiatives relating to Child Sponsorship, Projects, and Humanitarian Aid.
- Work closely with the Humanitarian Aid department to assess partners' Gifts-in-Kind needs and capacities; then assist with coordination of international shipment delivery, distribution, and reporting.
- Coordinate with partners to ensure all accountability and reporting requirements (receipts, financial reports, and project updates) are met in a timely and efficient manner.
- Proactively collaborate with partners to collect high quality content (text, photo, and video) to be used for donor reporting and marketing initiatives. Work closely with the Marketing team to ensure external messaging is accurate and meets security guidelines (if applicable).
- File and maintain record of all relevant partner documentation and reporting.
- Collaborate with the International Partnerships team to monitor all projects from inception to completion. Distribute project updates and content to relevant departments.
- Identify, thoroughly vet, and incorporate new international partners.
- Travel internationally and domestically to carry out the work necessary to fulfill the above duties and responsibilities. When needed, travel with donors, board members, or staff on vision, media, or mission trips.
- Represent the organization at fundraising events and board meetings as requested.
- Collaborate with the Director of International Partnerships, Gift Processing department, and Accounting department to monitor income and expenses to accurately prepare financial disbursements to partners. Accurately prepare documentation to submit payment requisitions. Prepare and send notification and receipts to partners upon disbursement.
- Monitor countries within portfolio for potential crisis situations (severe weather, earthquakes, civil unrest, famine, and war) and coordinate organization's disaster/crisis response when necessary.
- Collaborate with the Development and Donor Reporting teams to achieve donor satisfaction and retention.
Required Skills, Experience, and Education
- Bachelor's Degree in International Affairs/Relations, International Business, Public Health, Public Administration or Related Field.
- 5+ years of work experience in an administrative office setting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Extensive international travel experience.
Preferred Skills, Experience, and Education
- Graduate Degree in International Affairs/Relations, International Business, Public Health, Public Administration or Related Field.
- Proficient in a second language such as Spanish, Arabic, Mandarin, French, or Hindi.
- Experience working with customer relationship management (CRM) software.
- Experience working in the non-profit sector in an administrative, management, or fundraising capacity.
- Strong, clear, and effective public speaking skills.
