Description: The tutor provides executive functioning tutoring and support to students at LFHS. He/she assists students with learning, developing, and applying executive functioning skills used towards academic success and life readiness. Responsibilities:
- Provides one-to-one or small group executive functioning tutoring and support for students.
- Assists students with monitoring academic progress, attendance, and work completion.
- Assists students with developing study and review habits and skills, prioritizing time, time management, organizing school material and work, work completion, skills associated with improved communication and advocacy, planning, and with developing routines and personal organization systems.
- Assists students in successfully navigating learning expectations at LFHS.
- Accurately tracks, documents, and submits support sessions with students for LFHS record-keeping.
- Helps create and maintain a welcoming, positive, and collaborative environment for students and staff within the center.
- Proactively assists with monitoring the learning environment in the center.
Qualifications and Requirement:
- Professional Educators License (PEL) or Illinois Professional Educator License with Stipulations (PARA)
- Experience supporting students with executive functions skill development
- Experience working with students to develop positive school/life habits and routines
- Experience using Rush Neurobehavioral Center Executive Functions curriculum, preferred, but not required
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite, Google Apps for Education and school-based processing and management systems
- Effective and efficient communicator
- Proactive in building positive relationships with students
- Exhibits professionalism and maintains confidentiality
- One or two semester assignment, hourly rate
