Schedule: 12 hours/week (no additional hours available)
- Glenpool Library Tuesdays and Thursdays 3:30-6:00 p.m.; and Friday staff meeting from 3-5 p.m.
- Jenks Library Mondays and Wednesdays 3:30-6:00 p.m.; and Friday staff meeting from 3-5 p.m.

End Date: April 25, 2025We seek someone with educator experience who enjoys working with children and is creative and self-directed to oversee the day-to-day operation of an After-School Homework Club [ASHC] at one of seven Tulsa City-County Library locations. You will assist students in grades 3 through 8 with homework assignments, compile documented appointment information, and work with volunteer ASHC Homework Coaches. The position reports to the library's After-School Homework Club Administrator, Youth Services Dept.
Essential Functions:
Oversee day-to-day ASHC student appointments at library; Provide homework assistance based on student's assignments and learning needs; Prepare and bring to work all necessary ASHC equipment and supplies; Perform student registration and parent orientation activities; Schedule 30-minute one-to-one homework sessions with ASHC registered students; Effectively use, instruct on the use of, and promote learning-based library services and resources to students, parents, educators, and to the general public; Communicate student homework achievements to parents and/or caregivers upon request in person and/or via Remind.com; Coordinate student appointments for volunteer ASHC Homework Coaches; Compile end of day student reports; Participate in all facilitator training sessions, meetings, and workshops; Actively supports TCCL's Equity, Diversity and Inclusion efforts, and the Library's Be All In culture; Perform other duties as assigned.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of basic school subjects for grades 3-8 including English, reading, writing, science, and mathematics; Ability to work effectively with students and adapt instructional strategies; Ability to effectively communicate, orally and in writing, in English; Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to build and maintain positive relationships with students, parents and caregivers, ASHC volunteers, and library staff; Ability to initiate work without close supervision; Proficiency in conducting Internet and database-driven research; Ability to use basic productivity software (MS Word and Excel), Internet, email, and various other office machines and equipment; Ability to travel to individual ASHC site Monday through Thursday and every Friday afternoon attend ASHC meetings held at various library locations.Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree required. One to three years' experience teaching, training, or tutoring elementary or middle-school age students required. Or equivalent combination of technical training, education or experience. Valid Oklahoma driver's license and personal transportation required.Physical and Environmental Conditions: Physical Activity: For most positions work regularly requires stooping, bending and light lifting such as three or four reams of paper, four or five books, or other materials (up to 20 pounds). Some positions require moderate physical exertion, such as regularly lifting moderately heavy items (up to 40 pounds) such as crates full of books or pushing heavy (up to 100 pounds) wheeled carts full of books, on a highly frequent basis and/or assuming awkward positions. Work Environment: Work environment involves everyday risk or discomforts which require normal safety precautions, e.g. use of safe work place practices with office equipment, and or avoidance of trips and falls. For some positions there are usually no major sources of discomfort; work is essentially conducted in a normal office environment with acceptable lighting, temperature, and air conditions. For some positions there may be occasional minor discomforts from exposure to less than optimal temperatures (extreme cold or heat) and air conditions due to exposure to the outdoors.
