Position Type: Maintenance/Custodial/CustodianDate Posted: 11/6/2023Location: Pattengill Elementary SchoolDistrict: Berkley School DistrictPOSITION OPEN: Afternoon Custodian (Class V) LOCATION: Norup International School & Pattengill Elementary School Monday - Friday, approx. 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm 40 hours/week, 52 weeks/year COMPENSATION: Starting at $15.82 per hour per the current AFSCME Salary Schedule - commensurate with education/experience + benefit package provided in the current AFSCME Collective Bargaining Agreement. $1000 signing bonus* to be paid to new hire after successful completion of 60 work days with the District. *Position is also eligible for $500 Employee Referral Bonus if new hire is referred by a current BSD employee. Employee referral bonus is paid after new hire successful completion of 60 work days. QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Good moral character
- Ability to create and maintain good public relations
- Ability to understand and communicate in English
- Ability to clear equipment, materials and methods used in custodial work
- Ability to work without constant direct supervision
- Ability to perform manual tasks such as lifting and moving a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Excellent attendance record
- Sussessful completion of drug/fitness screening and criminal background check
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Clean assigned areas as follows:
- Sweep and vacuum rooms and halls
- Dust rooms and lockers
- Mop bathroom floor, clean toilets and urinals and replenish paper supplies
- Clean whiteboards as necessary
- Clean doors and windows
- Clean entryways
- Report any needed repairs to custodial supervisor
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and sanitation in their section
- Perform set ups and takedowns for events and activities
- Clean up after night activities
- Assist with snow removal
- Perform other duties as assigned
