Position Summary
Afternoon Floor Supervisor works in our fast-paced warehousing department. They work with Customer Service Representatives, Warehousemen and our Customers. They make sure everyone is on task in the right order of urgency. They verify the quality of work and solve problems as they occur. He/she is critical of ensuring the product is handled correctly based on the customer's requirements. Associates gain valuable experience in quality, productivity, and communications.
Job Description
* Direct the daily activity of 2 to 4 Warehousemen and Floor Staff.
* Assure goods received on behalf of our customer are accurately entered into our Warehouse Management System (WMS).
* Direct staff to store goods in the proper locations, making sure the locations are scanned into the WMS.
* Distribute orders to pull product for outbound shipments. Orders must be pulled according to priority.
* Verify that goods pulled for orders are correct and quantities are accurate.
* Direct staff to load goods when carriers arrive.
* Cycle count parts on hand as directed by Customer Service or Operations Manager.
* Navigate and work in Ramp and CMIS to verify orders, receipts or on hand inventory.
* Back up Customer Service Representatives if workload requires.
* Submit a daily shift summary to Operations Manager and dayshift floor management.
* Report any equipment in need of repair.
* Train forklift operators.
Experience/Requirements
* High school education required. Some college beneficial.
* Three (3) years' experience in a similar position is required.
* Three (3) years' experience driving a Forklift is a must.
* Pass pre-employment background screening.
Details & Location
* Position located on the Eastside of Detroit
* Shift 2pm to 11pm Monday through Friday and must be flexible to work weekends, when needed.
* Starting wage $22.00 per hour
