Job Description: We are seeking a reliable and experienced to ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of our grain elevator facilities and associated equipment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with industrial machinery and systems, including conveyors, grain elevators, and drying equipment, and be ready to work in a team-oriented environment. You will also be responsible for maintaining and repairing a variety of heavy equipment used in our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on grain handling equipment including elevator legs, cleaners, and conveyors.
- Troubleshoot and repair issues with forklifts, plot combines, drills, big rigs, and company vehicles.
- Perform regular maintenance on grain dryers, motors, and other critical machinery to ensure optimal functioning.
- Monitor and maintain the condition of grain storage facilities, ensuring proper airflow, temperature, and humidity levels.
- Responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment used in loading and unloading grain, including forklifts and company vehicles.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations, including fire safety and dust control.
- Maintain an inventory of replacement parts, tools, and equipment necessary for repairs and maintenance.
- Document maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment status to maintain an accurate record.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to maintain smooth operations and assist with training new employees.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; vocational training or apprenticeship in mechanics preferred.
- 2-3 years experience working with grain elevators or agriculture machinery is required.
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills; familiarity with electrical systems a plus.
- Experience with forklifts, plot combines, drills, and company vehicles is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and best practices in an industrial setting.
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a small team.
