Description: JOB ID#72122Our client is looking to fill a position for an Agriculture Shop Helper, you will play a vital role in supporting the operations of an agricultural equipment service center or workshop. Working under the supervision of experienced mechanics and technicians, you will assist with various tasks related to the repair, maintenance, and preparation of agricultural machinery and equipment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Equipment Cleaning: Clean agricultural equipment, machinery, and components using hand tools, power washers, and cleaning solutions. Remove dirt, grease, and debris to prepare equipment for inspection, repair, or maintenance. Parts Organization: Assist in organizing and maintaining an inventory of equipment parts, tools, and supplies within the shop. Label and store parts in designated areas for easy identification and access by mechanics and technicians. Tool Maintenance: Assist with cleaning, lubricating, and organizing hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment. Ensure that tools are in good working condition and readily available for use by mechanics and technicians. Equipment Assembly: Assist in assembling, disassembling, and reassembling agricultural machinery and equipment as directed by senior mechanics. Follow instructions and diagrams to ensure proper assembly and alignment of components. Parts Retrieval: Retrieve parts and components from storage areas or parts suppliers as needed for equipment repairs and maintenance. Assist in tracking inventory levels and replenishing stock as necessary. Shop Cleanup: Maintain a clean and organized work environment within the shop by sweeping floors, emptying trash bins, and disposing of waste materials properly. Ensure that work areas are free from clutter and hazards to promote safety and efficiency. Shop Assistance: Provide general assistance and support to welders, mechanics and technicians as directed. Help with lifting and moving heavy equipment parts, holding tools or equipment during repairs, and performing other tasks as assigned. Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines for shop operations to prevent accidents and injuries. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots while working in the shop. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and tasks completed. Assist in completing service reports, work orders, and documentation required for billing, warranty claims, and regulatory compliance. Learning and Development: Take advantage of opportunities to learn from experienced mechanics and technicians, gaining practical knowledge and skills in equipment repair and maintenance. Participate in training programs and workshops to enhance your understanding of agricultural machinery and shop operations. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintain and secure work tools. Clean and maintain work area, including Service Trucks. Maintain a cooperative positive attitude to accomplish work goals of the job and work group. Maintains good attendance and punctuality. Adhere to all company Policy such as but not limited to meal/break policy, appearance/dress code policy, and request time off policy. Ability to work flexible hours and work around a changing schedule. Ability to effectively manage time. Provide on-the-job training to new employees. Ability to read and understand work orders. Ability to read tape measure and calipers. Knowledge and use of basic hand tools. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Education: High school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Additional vocational training or coursework in mechanics, automotive technology, or related fields is beneficial but not required. Mechanical Aptitude: Interest in learning about agricultural machinery and equipment repair and maintenance. Basic knowledge of hand tools and mechanical systems is advantageous. Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and carrying heavy objects, standing for extended periods, and working in various positions within the shop environment. Teamwork Skills: Willingness to work collaboratively as part of a team to achieve common goals and objectives. Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions from supervisors and senior team members. Attention to Detail: Keen attention to detail and a commitment to performing tasks accurately and efficiently. Follow instructions carefully and ask questions when clarification is needed. Safety Awareness: Understanding of basic safety principles and practices in a workshop or industrial setting.
