Job Summary:
The College of Agricultural & Life Sciences Agricultural Research Stations (ARS) is hiring a Facilities Manager to support the research, teaching, and outreach missions for the 12 ARS sites located throughout the state of Wisconsin. This opening provides a great opportunity for someone skilled at managing agricultural buildings and equipment. This is an excellent opportunity to work collaboratively with a diverse population of faculty and managers to help them achieve their goals and creatively address evolving needs within the station's portfolios. The position will serve as the Department Property Administrator (DPA) for ARS including tagging and tracking capital equipment, assisting with purchasing as needed, and disposing of property in accordance with campus policies and procedures. The Facilities Manager will work with members of the campus Facilities Management and Planning staff to facilitate maintenance and repairs within ARS' various buildings where research is conducted. This position will work closely with, and report to, the ARS Director.

Responsibilities:
Responsible for the security, custodial, grounds, recycling, repairs, maintenance, and utility services of facilities to ensure that they meet the needs of the university and its employees.
* 30% Establishes priorities for scheduled mechanical and electrical services within the area of responsibility, administering preventive maintenance programs for facilities, inspecting facilities to determine repair or replacement needs, and supervising the performance of emergency and routine maintenance on campus facilities within the area of responsibility
* 10% Ensures all protection systems such as fire panels, smoke/heat detectors, sprinkler systems, and pumps are maintained in accordance with the regulatory requirements and industry standards and ensures all emergency generators/power systems, rigging systems, and elevators are properly maintained in accordance with industry standards and are operational at all times
* 10% Minimizes institutional liability regarding the university's compliance with federal regulations and regulations governing environmental protection, the handling of hazardous materials and hazardous waste, and the use of chemical substances and materials
* 30% Works with procurement services and planning, design and construction as appropriate in developing bid specifications and contract documents for contract work to be performed, obtaining, reviewing, and analyzing estimates from reputable vendors, and preparing the bid tabulation sheets and associated paperwork to support the request
* 15% Serve as Departmental Property Administrator for Agricultural Research Stations.
* 5% Manage the Agricultural Research Station Rental houses and provide compliance for all Department of Administration Regulations.

* 3 Years of Experience related to repair, construction, and/or maintenance of equipment and space.
* Demonstrated and documented experience working with the unique nature of agricultural buildings and equipment.
* Project management (e.g., plan/develop projects; delegation of tasks; facilitate/monitor project progress; troubleshoot obstacles; organizing complex tasks; implementing and adhering to deadlines; maintaining records).
* Commitment to excellent timely communications and quality customer support.
* Ability to work independently and meet deadlines while paying attention to accuracy and details.

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.
Normal hours are 7:45am - 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. Occasional nights and weekends may be required for this position.
