Description First Financial Bank has an immediate opening for an Agriculture Loan Officer Trainee at the Corporate Office located in El Dorado, Arkansas. The primary responsibility of this position is to provide loans in compliance with financial institution policies and procedures and assist in supervising the daily operations in their assigned home office. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university in Agriculture, Business, Finance, or related field preferred; or two to four years related lending experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. In addition to prior banking and loan experience, knowledge of agriculture (personal or professional) a plus. COMPLEXITY: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or board of directors. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Interviews loan applicants and orders credit reports. Requests specified information for loan application. Notifies applicant of loan decision. Corresponds with customers, applicants or creditors to resolve questions regarding application information. Recommends and outlines terms of loan. Informs prospective borrowers of loan commitments. Develops and maintains interest rate structure that is consistent with financial institution policies and is competitive with the current market. Reviews developing law and regulations as they apply to loan agreements. Manages delinquent account files for the financial institution. Assists in the training of Loan Assistants. Cross sells all bank services. Handles various department file maintenance in order to secure proper regulatory requirements. Maintains full knowledge of all computer programs utilized in the loan department. Position also requires occasional travel to other locations to meet with potential and current clients. Business Development duties include gathering and analyzing data and making contact with potential customers to provide new loan business to the Bank. Loan responsibilities include gathering the appropriate documents from a business to analyze its cash flow and business goals and determine if they meet the company's guidelines. Other duties as assigned by management. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Good understanding and knowledge of financial institution products and services. Good cross-selling, management, and organizational skills. Must possess good communication skills, both verbal and written. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office - Word and Excel and have the ability to learn various other computer software programs. Must be able to analyze and interpret computer-related issues.
