Preferred Qualifications Position Summary The principal duties of the position include, but are not limited to, 1) providing day-to-day support of research, under the direction of the ADS Sr. Farm Manager, of the operation of a beef research farm of approximately 900 acres, 2) direct involvement in all aspects of daily care of beef cattle, including feeding, breeding, calving, forage management, herd health, feedlot management, etc., 3) working with faculty and other farm staff to ensure that the research, teaching, and extension missions are accomplished, 4) performing all tasks related to fencing, making facility improvements and repairs, and other tasks as requested. - Knowledge of livestock management practices and agronomic practices for growing and harvesting crops needed for the feeding of beef cattle.
- Knowledge of machinery operation and maintenance.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work activities involved in a beef farm operation and those involved in field research work.
- Ability to implement and conduct research field trials under the direction of faculty, graduate students, post-docs, and the Sr. Farm Manager.
- Ability to maintain the necessary research and beef management records as specified by faculty, graduate students, post-docs, and the Sr. Farm Manager. Physical Demands

- Work in environmental extremes and outdoor conditions including, heat, cold and wet.
