Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARYThis position is responsible for providing active leadership and guidance to the Applications team with the purpose of supporting all functional areas of Alexandria Industries, ensuring that production processes are accurate and efficient. With a significant emphasis on automation and robotics, be a driver of continuous improvement and innovation efforts.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe following description of work to be performed by this individual is not intended to be all-inclusive. Rather, it focuses on the major tasks that must be accomplished.
  • Ensure that safety is always the number one priority at Alexandria Industries; promote and support a safe work environment and safety-oriented culture by following all safety programs and guidelines
  • Perform employee reviews, coaching conversations and encouragement to ensure all employees are supported and challenged to grow and develop within the organization
  • Develop and implement department goals and key measures that align with the mission, vision and values of the organization
  • Continuously build relationships throughout the department and company to best serve and support co-workers and employees
  • Oversee scheduling and coordination of work assigned to and in departments
  • Review and analyze production data and trends to make continuous improvement recommendations
  • Oversee continuous improvement initiatives in regard to revenue generation and machine performance
  • Prepare for and participate in the development and preparation of capital requisition projects
  • Partner with other Alexandria Industries facilities to manage and monitor performance, and help to appropriately make improvements when needed
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to identify robotic automation opportunities and solutions
  • Oversee and build expertise in the integration and setup of various automation technologies such as collaborative robots, vision systems, grippers, and process tooling
  • Partner with internal teams as a critical resource for new product development initiatives
  • Lead technology improvements by attending seminars, technical conferences, etc.
  • Conduct research on robotic technologies to create new robotic systems and/or system capabilities
  • Continuously evaluate supplier partnerships to ensure the Best Value to the company and its customers (calibration, perishable tooling, etc.)
  • Manage and oversee budgets in responsible areas
  • Develop, meet and maintain metrics and goals to provide accurate information to all areas of the company

  • Perform all other related assignments (including special projects) as required in a professional and cooperative manner.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education:
    • Associates or Bachelors degree in Machine Tool Technology, Engineering, or related program required.
  • Experience:
    • 10+ years of manufacturing experience required
    • 5+ years of leadership experience required
  • Other required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Strong computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
    • Ability to recognize safety concerns
    • Ability to utilize the proper inspection and measurement equipment
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong coordination, judgment and project management skills
    • Basic math skills
    • Excellent blueprint reading skills with a good understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
    • Ability to efficiently manage and schedule employee responsibilities
    • 5-15% travel required
