Title: AI/ML Innovation Leader Compensation: $250,000-$290,000/year (depending on experience level) Type: Direct Hire Industry: Technology (Public Sector) Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of ML/AI models, with a focus on natural language processing (NLP) and machine learning.
- Drive innovation and thought leadership by publishing research, presenting at conferences, and contributing to significant AI projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, and business stakeholders, to create solutions that meet both technical and business requirements across various platforms.
- Oversee the development of machine learning algorithms from initial prototyping through rigorous training, validation, and deployment, optimizing models to achieve measurable business outcomes such as improved decision-making, efficiency, and cost savings.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to junior team members and AI developers, fostering a culture of collaboration, technical excellence, and continuous learning.
- Manage ML/AI projects, ensuring seamless data collection, preprocessing, and quality assurance to maintain data integrity. Implement robust data handling protocols and security measures.
- Ensure that AI tools and models deliver quantifiable efficiency gains and business outcomes, focusing on operational impact and measurable results.
- Stay active in the ML/AI community, keeping up with emerging trends, methodologies, and technologies to ensure the company remains at the forefront of ML/AI innovation.
- Publish thought leadership content, papers, and blogs in the ML/AI domain, and present research and innovations at industry conferences to position the company as a leader in the ML/AI space.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field; a PhD is a plus.
- Over 15 years of hands-on experience in designing and deploying scalable ML/AI solutions, with proven expertise in developing machine learning algorithms and NLP tools that drive business outcomes.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, Java, or Scala, and familiarity with ML/AI frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn.
- Extensive experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka).
- Expertise in deploying and scaling ML/AI solutions in cloud environments.
- Experience leading teams of AI developers, managing collaborative projects, and mentoring junior staff.
- Proven ability to implement ML/AI solutions that achieve measurable efficiency improvements, including enhanced operational workflows and better business decision-making.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences and influence senior leadership and stakeholders through compelling data and insights.
- Published papers, articles, or research in ML/AI journals or prominent conferences, experience as a speaker at ML/AI conferences.
- Certifications such as AWS Certified Data Engineer, Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Engineer Associate, AWS Certified Machine Learning – Specialty, or Databricks Certified Professional Data Scientist (preferred).
