Job Title: Aide - STEAMWage/Hour Status: NonexemptReports to: PrincipalPay Grade: Para/Clerical PG 3Dept./School:Assigned CampusDate Revised: 6-28-2023Work Days Scheduled: 187Primary Purpose: Provide instructional assistance to students in the STEAM classroom. This will include preparing, conducting, and managing classroom instruction.Qualifications:Education/Certification:
  • High school or GED
  • Valid Texas educational aide certificate
Special Knowledge/Skills:
  • Ability to assist in instructing physical education
  • Ability to work well with children
  • Ability to communicate effectively
Experience:
  • Experience working with children, preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties:Instructional Support
  • Provide instruction to students, work with individual students.
  • Prepare instructional materials and classroom displays.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly classroom.
  • Inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.
  • Keep administrative records and prepare required reports.
  • Prepare lessons for substitute teachers.
  • Prepare and plan enriching and engaging lessons.
  • Student Management
  • Supervise students throughout the school day, inside and outside the classroom. This includes lunchroom, bus, and playground duty.
  • Make teachers aware of special needs or problems of individual students.
  • Other
  • Participate in staff development training programs to improve job performance.
  • Participate in faculty meetings and special events as assigned.
  • Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
  • Assist with participation in community activities.
