With a focus on a people first culture, growth opportunities, and supporting local communities we set the stage for a meaningful career in educational facilities nationwide.Job SummarySummary: Performs a variety of skilled maintenance duties related to the facility's engineering and maintenance.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Install compressed air piping systems according to blueprints, layout diagrams, and specifications providedThis involves determining optimal routing for the pipes, selecting appropriate materials, and installing piping to convey compressed air efficiently and safely.Choose suitable piping materials based on factors such as air pressure requirements, flow rate, environmental conditions, and compatibility with compressed air Common materials include aluminum, stainless steel, copper, and various types of pipingCalculate pipe sizes and layout configurations to ensure adequate airflow and pressureConsiderations may include the distance between the compressor and end-use equipment, pressure drop, and potential obstructions.Mount and support piping systems securely using hangers, brackets, clamps, and other fixtures to prevent sagging, vibration, and damageEnsure proper anchoring to walls, ceilings, or structural supports as necessaryJoin pipes and fittings using appropriate methods such as threading or mechanical connections like compression fittings and push-to-connect fittingsApply sealants, tape, or thread compounds as needed to ensure airtight connections and prevent leaksConduct pressure tests on installed piping systems to verify integrity and identify any leaks or weaknessesPerform adjustments or repairs as necessary to achieve compliance with safety standards and client specificationsAdhere to safety protocols and regulations throughout the installation process, including proper handling of tools and equipment, use of personal protective gear, and precautions against electrical hazards, confined spaces, and falling objectsMaintain accurate records of materials used, installation procedures, pressure test results, and any modifications or repairs made to the piping system.
