Academic Year: 2024-2025Nature of Duties:Under general supervision, prepares lesson plans for classroom instruction for credited technical/occupational courses; prepares standardized course syllabi using a provided template; assesses students' satisfactory progress based on established course grading requirements. May be required to attend professional development training as required for specific classroom or online course delivery. Teaches Air Conditioning and Heating courses in a classroom/lab/field environment that closely simulates the industry environment while maintaining knowledge of current trends and developments in the field. Provides instruction in the theory and practical applications of Air Conditioning and Heating. Measures program or departmental student learning outcomes for continuous student improvement and success. Requires strong computer skills, communication skills, and the ability to interact effectively with a diverse student population.Selected candidates must be able to work morning or evening hours, Monday through Thursday.Minimum Qualifications:* Diploma in Air Conditioning Technology from an accredited post-secondary institution or equivalent.* Three (3) out of the past seven (7) years of field experience.* Valid Driver's LicensePreferred Qualifications:* An associate degree or higher in air conditioning technology or related field.* Industry certification in field.* Teaching experience at the postsecondary level.Salary/Benefits:* $23.00 per contact hour.* All adjunct positions are part-time, temporary positions. Hours are offered based on student enrollment each semester.* Adjunct positions do not include benefits or a promise of future full-time employment.Special Instructions to Applicants:To be considered for the Adjunct Pool, applicants must upload transcripts, resumes, and certifications with their application. Adjunct Pool applications are for the current academic year, and a new application is required each academic year. Adjuncts are paid on a per-contact-hour basis. All courses are face-to-face unless otherwise indicated. Courses are offered Monday through Thursday during both morning and evening hours.
