Position Summary:
Our client, a prominent global logistics provider, seeks a seasoned Director of Freight Sales to drive international freight growth across air and ocean channels on the West Coast. This strategic, high-impact role requires a strong hunter mentality, an extensive book of business, and a demonstrated track record of gross profit success. You will serve as both an individual contributor and a strategic leader, instrumental in expanding market share and delivering revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Strategy Development: Craft and implement sales strategies focused on achieving company revenue and gross profit targets in air and ocean freight forwarding.
- Client Relationship Management: Establish and nurture long-term relationships with existing clients while actively pursuing new prospects to expand the customer base and capture market share.
- Business Expansion: Utilize your existing book of business to identify, engage, and secure new business opportunities.
- Customized Solution Selling: Present tailored logistics solutions that address specific client needs, effectively closing deals to drive revenue.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with operations and logistics teams to ensure the seamless delivery of services that meet client expectations.
- Market Intelligence: Stay informed of market trends, competitive actions, and industry developments to refine and adjust sales strategies as needed.
- Sales Presentations and Proposals: Develop and deliver persuasive sales presentations, proposals, and pitches to prospective clients.
- Performance Tracking: Analyze and monitor sales metrics to drive continuous improvement, ensuring alignment with revenue and profit goals.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline (preferred).
- Experience: A minimum of 7 years in international freight sales with an emphasis on air and ocean logistics.
- Proven Success in Revenue Growth: Documented history of achieving gross profit goals and consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Business Development Strength: Strong hunter mindset with an established, transferable book of business in the logistics space.
- Interpersonal Skills: Outstanding communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
- Self-Motivated with Team Collaboration: Capable of working autonomously while actively collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM tools.
