The OpportunityReporting to Manager, Air Emissions within the US Environment team, this position will be an integral part of the team responsible for supporting compliance reporting at both the federal and state level. The role will also deliver air emissions reporting to support the US business unit and corporate functions. Please note this role could be located in
Houston, Texas; Troy, Michigan; Washington, PA; or Charleston, West Virginia.What you'll do- Complete air permit renewal applications and obtain permits for modified facilities.
- Prepare and submit air compliance reports of and emissions inventories in accordance with air permit requirements and state and federal regulations.
- Support the day-to-day air compliance for assigned region/facilities.
- Collaborate with a team of internal air quality SMEs to assure compliance with and audit/review of company operating procedures and processes.
- Provide technical Subject Matter Expertise (SME) in the evaluation of emerging air regulations, assessing gaps and advise management on future potential and likely concerns and issues.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders (e.g. team peers, Field Operations, Corporate and Legal teams) and external stakeholders (e.g. regulatory agencies).
- Manage consultant work for air emissions modeling, permit applications, risk assessments and regulatory mitigation strategies, data inventory and audit functions
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree, or preferably Master's Degree, in engineering, environmental sciences or environmental engineering, computer science or related fields with a focus on climate change and air emissions
- Minimum 6 years experience in managing environmental planning and air permitting for transmission pipelines, storage facilities and other energy projects, including routing/siting, environmental planning, project management, permitting and environmental compliance
- Comprehensive knowledge of environmental laws/regulations practices including the Clean Air Act pertaining to the pipeline transmission and storage sector, pipeline development and other energy project development
- Experience and knowledge of environmental information management systems including one or more of the following software systems: CEDRI, SLEIS or others
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (intermediate level)
- Knowledge and ability to run queries against data using SQL and Power BI (or similar tools)
Preferred Qualifications- Previous experience with Federal & State air permitting processes for transmission pipelines and storage facilities across the US
- Previous experience with complex regulatory, permitting and compliance air/GHG issues on major operations and construction projects.
- Previous experience with understanding of federal regulations such as NSPS JJJJ, KKKK, OOOO and NESHAP ZZZZ and YYYY.
- Experience with RACT/BACT/MACT/NSR/PSD for transmission pipelines and storage facilities in the US.
- Expertise in assessing the impact of and developing/implementing strategies to address environmental air emissions regulatory initiatives
- Expertise supporting corporate GHG and air emissions reporting.
- Demonstrated understanding and experience managing large groups of operational data at a detailed or summary level to support air emission calculation and reporting.
- Demonstrated sound analytical and diagnostic skills dealing with issues that are loosely defined and/or where information is available but must be further analyzed.
