Job Title: Aircraft Mechanic II (H-60 Airframes)
Location: Key West SAR
Task Description:
Aircraft Mechanic II (23022): Aircraft Mechanics II must have a combination of experience to repair engines, sheet metal, and structural, hydraulic, electrical, power train and general mechanical maintenance of moderate difficulty, required to meet the assigned missions. Additionally provides input to Maintenance Engineering Changes (MEC), Estimated Cost of Damage preparation (ECOD) and assist in the recommendation of changes to (MWO). Individuals must be able to prioritize workloads and are required to lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks. Mechanic IIs can inspect Mechanic IIs and Is. This mechanic maintains repairs and modifies aircraft structures and structural components of moderate difficulty, maintains and repairs aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components, applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies required expertise in restoring equipment condition and or operation, and applies comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as blueprints or manufactures' manuals. Must have a thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting, repair procedures and replacement of parts, requires broad knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications and repair, must have basic knowledge of electrical theory, must have thorough knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers. This job requires working knowledge of technical publications. The incumbent receives technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician, will occasionally be required to lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks, and may be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records. Must be able to prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects. May require specialization in sheet-metal, electric work, avionics or other aircraft systems related disciplines.
Skill and Knowledge: Shall have the ability to troubleshoot malfunctions in various aircraft systems and be able to perform general Organizational Level maintenance and possess one or more of the specialties of the assigned aircraft below:
Airframe/Structural, Landing Gear, Hydraulic/Pneumatic Systems, and Mechanical Flight Control Systems
Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) licensing of contractor employee technical proficiency is not required.
Responsibility: Performs requirements in accordance with the procedures established in the PWS. Performs diagnosis and corrective actions, disassembles, inspects, evaluates, and accomplishes necessary repairs, lays out work according to technical instructions and technical directives. Determines what repairs, modifications, and part replacements are required. May be required to verify work performed by another for which he/she is qualified to perform.
TASK REQUIREMENTS:
* Troubleshoot malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, pneumatic, hydraulic, and ventilation and heating systems.
* Inspect, repair, replace, and rebuild aircraft components/sub components to include rigging of flight control.
* Read and interpret manufacturers' maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
* Perform phase, scheduled, unscheduled, periodic, and other hourly or calendar inspections.
* Perform preflight, thru flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections, launch and recover aircraft, and Preventive Maintenance Daily Inspections.
* Use chemical treatment process to etch and alodine parts.
* Use chemical sealants.
* Requisition repair parts, materials, and consumable supplies through military supply system.
* Perform other tasks as directed.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Five or more years' H-60 rotary wing experience.
* Familiarity and ability to use military tech manuals.
* Four or more years' experience with NALCOMIS/OOMA
* Basic Corrosion Control Course
* Advanced Corrosion Control Course/Paint and Final Finish
* Automated Track and Balancing System (ATABS) Course (NATEC provides)
* Safe for Flight (SFF) qualification in H-60 aircraft
* Aircraft Jacking Qualification
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
* Individual (I) Aircraft Maintenance Qualification
* Three years aviation maintenance experience
* Must be able to obtain and maintain H-60 CDI certification/qualification
* Must be able to work 1st, 2nd, 3rdand weekend shift schedule as required.
* Must be able work flexible work-week schedules i.e. Mon-Fri, Sun-Thur, Fri-Mon or as required.
* Must be able to pass a background check.
* Must satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check Local Records Check and Credit (NACLC) or Access National Agency Check with written Inquiries (ANACI) resulting in eligibility for a SECRET clearance which shall be required of employees assigned to perform:
* Maintaining MH-60S Avionics Systems.
* Handling and/or storage of COMSEC equipment.
* Must be able to climb ladders, raised platforms, and aircraft.
* Must be able to use hand and power tools.
* Must have dexterity to handle small parts.
* Must be able to deploy to support off station exercises and perform other support duties as assigned.
Compensation
$43.68/hour
Other Compensation
Employees who opt out of medical, dental and vision coverages or take employee only medical coverage shall receive $11.00 per compensated hour up to a cap of forty (40) hours per week.
