Title: Aircraft Mechanic IILocation: Elizabeth City, NCPosition Status: Full Time Pending Contract AwardWork Schedule: Regular hours are Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Employees may need to adjust work hours during surge situations.Brief Job Description: The Aircraft Mechanic II is responsible for servicing, repairing, and overhauling aircraft and engines to ensure airworthiness, as well as maintaining and modifying aircraft structures and components of moderate complexity. This role involves diagnosing malfunctions in systems such as flight controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, and fuel systems, utilizing technical knowledge to restore equipment to operational condition. The position requires interpreting technical documentation, including blueprints and manufacturer manuals, to solve complex issues. Additionally, the Aircraft Mechanic II prioritizes workloads to meet project deadlines, provides technical guidance to junior mechanics, and performs other tasks as needed to support operational objectives.Responsibilities
  • Service, repair, and overhaul aircraft and aircraft engines to ensure airworthiness.
  • Maintain, repair, and modify aircraft structures and structural components of moderate difficulty.
  • Maintain and repair aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components.
  • Apply technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and apply required expertise in restoring equipment condition and or operation.
  • Apply comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as; blueprints or manufacturer's manuals.
  • Prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects.
  • Provide technical direction to Aircraft Mechanic I Contractor employees.
  • Performs other tasks as needed
Requirements
  • Eight (8) years of documented experience performing aircraft maintenance on H60 aircraft.
  • Possess Aviation Technical School certification or an Associate's Degree in Aviation Maintenance Technology or similar.
  • Shall have a thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting, repair procedures and replacement of parts.
  • Broad knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications and repair.
  • Shall have basic knowledge of electrical theory.
  • Thorough knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers.
  • Working knowledge of technical publications.
  • Must have strong organizational and planning skills and the ability to prioritize work
  • Must be detail oriented with good analytical skills and ability to handle multiple tasks independently
  • Must be able to work in a team environment
  • Must have attention to detail and critical thinking skills
  • Must demonstrate positive, polite, and professional behavior at all times when dealing with co-workers, customers, and all levels of management
  • Must have the ability to communicate using clear, concise, and accurate English; both verbal and written are Required
Physical Requirements:Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility to include but not limited to: bending, reaching, climbing, turning, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distances may be required. Must be able to lift, move, and transport items frequently over 10 pounds.Work Environment:Generally, work is conducted in an inside office environment, but may also involve some outside work depending on the task. The inside environment may be in an office or cubicle with close quarters, low to moderate noise, and bright or dim lighting.
