Airport Design Engineer - Tampa, FLInfrastructure Consulting & Engineering, LLC (ICE) is looking for a dedicated and self-motivated
Airport Design Engineer to join our aviation team in Tampa, FL. As a leading full-service transportation consulting and design firm, ICE is committed to delivering excellence and pushing the boundaries of what's possible in airport design and engineering. The Airport Design Engineer will play a crucial part in planning, designing, and overseeing the construction of airport facilities, from runways and taxiways to terminal buildings. You'll work with a team of experts, utilize cutting-edge design software, and collaborate on projects of various complexities, all while adhering to the highest industry standards and FAA regulations. You will be responsible for producing plans, reports, and technical specifications for airport improvement projects, mainly involving civil engineering.
Responsibilities - Perform civil design using AutoCAD Civil 3D for airport infrastructure projects.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams under the guidance of senior engineers/designers.
- Conduct field work as directed by senior engineers/designers.
- Assist in various engineering tasks on projects of different complexities.
- Collect data and information to support design decisions.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards.
- Create engineering models to meet project specifications and requirements.

Qualifications - Ability to work independently and efficiently with a strong focus on client service.
- Strong teamwork, interpersonal, and communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcGIS, and Microsoft Excel is required.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must complete a pre-employment screening.
Education and Experience Requirements - Bachelor's degree in civil engineering required.
- EIT required; licensed in FL desired.
- Minimum of 3 years of airport design experience with a strong knowledge of FAA standards.
- Senior positions are available for candidates with 10+ years of relevant experience.
Physical DemandsWhile working in the office, this position predominantly involves up to 8 hours per day at a computer workstation, with occasional standing and walking. The employee may occasionally lift lightweight office supplies and materials, typically not exceeding 20 pounds. The office environment is indoors, characterized by controlled temperatures and minimal exposure to adverse conditions. Must have visual acuity to recognize/change/add precise details on CAD drawings. During fieldwork, the position entails moderate physical exertion, encompassing walking, standing, bending, and ascending stairs or ladders. Fieldwork exposes the employee to various environmental conditions, including but not limited to loud noise levels, dust, dirt, and temperature fluctuations.
Expected Hours of WorkThis position is full-time (40 hours per week). Office hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, allowing one unpaid hour for lunch each day. While overtime is generally not anticipated, occasional projects or deadlines may necessitate additional hours, compensated according to company policy. Flexible schedules may be available with prior approval from the immediate supervisor. Work schedules may vary based on project demands.
CompensationThe Salary Range for this position is $58,000 - $110,000 and is dependent on education, experience, certifications/licensure, and current market trends.
