Salary range: $78,092-$90,000Posting expires: January 1, 2025General Description and Classification StandardsThe Financial Manager - Capital Finance will perform various financial analysis and reporting including, but not limited to, Construction in Progress reconciliation, capital budget reporting and budget changes, funds tracking, and project cost analysis. The person in this role will be a high-functioning, results-oriented, self-directed professional with the ability to acclimate to a fast paced, changing environment, while performing a variety of complex tasks requiring initiative and a significant amount of judgment in solving problems. They will be a key player in providing comprehensive, insightful, and accurate financial analysis and reporting to management for informed decision-making.Supervision ReceivedWorks under general supervision. May work independently with responsibility for assigned functions or tasks. Receives guidance regarding overall mission, short-term and mid-term objectives, scheduling, unusual priorities, etc.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesThese are typical responsibilities for this position and should not be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. May perform other duties as assigned.- Monitor, analyze and make changes to the capital budget as needed through the project life cycle.- Update and analyze various capital budget funding tracking analysis.- Prepare, submit, and track supporting documents to process budget changes.- Prepare legislation to record capital budget and/or reimburse from ultimate funding sources. Create documents to process, approve and verify changes.- Prepare comprehensive project financial analysis of project costs for project closeouts.- Perform the quarterly Construction in Progress (CIP) reconciliation and reporting documentation. This includes analyzing data from various systems, comparing, and determining proper accounting, and finding any errors or omissions. Tracking and validating entries and fixes.- Develop, implement, and apply policies and procedures, analyzes processes, and makes recommendations for improvements.Leadership ProvidedThis person will not directly supervise employees. However, they may provide work group leadership, guidance, and/or training to peers and/or less experienced staff and serve as a technical resource or mentor to other employees.Formal Knowledge- Have knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, fund and grant accounting, and internal controls.- Have knowledge and experience with Oracle Fusion Cloud systems general ledger, reporting and/or projects and grants module.- Have knowledge of projects, project life cycle, and project accounting.- Advanced knowledge of Excel functions required including pivot tables, Sumif's, lookups, data collection and other management tools, etc.- Knowledge of PowerPoint and Word.- Familiarity with a variety of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting applications.SkillsThe preferred candidate will demonstrate:- Detailed oriented with strong analytical skills.- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to research and analyze issues and formulate recommendations and/or corrective actions.- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including ability to effectively communicate and summarize complex issues and concerns to peers and Senior Management.- The ability to work successfully and effectively on cross-functional teams and team/collaborative projects.- Strong reporting skills.- Strong organization skills.- Focus on deadlines.
