Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARY Under general supervision, responsible for all Airport checks, inspections, security checks, communications, submit work orders, airport security system oversight, CCTV monitoring, escort coordination and emergency response. Provide emergency and non-emergency communications response to individuals and entities that request or require support services from Police, Fire, EMS, ARFF, FBO, or Security at Port San Antonio. WORKING CONDITIONS Work in a close room environment. General office setting and sedentary. Use of personal computing equipment, telephone, base radios, crash net phone, multi-function printer and calculator. Manual dexterity, ability to lift 25+ pounds. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS - Coordinate day-to-day activities of Kelly Field/Port San Antonio (PSA) through a 24-hour Airport Operations Communications Center (AOCC) . - Monitor security/emergency equipment and/or systems and closed-circuit television monitors, and report breaches of airport security. - Answer emergency and non-emergency phone calls, determine nature of request and act upon phone call. Initiate, and update Emergency Notification System during emergency and non-emergency situations. - Provide customer service to PSA employees, governmental agencies and tenants by performing duties such as providing work related and emergency information. - Receive and relay of aircraft operations to AMOps as known. Monitor Unicom frequency and process NOTAMs. - Process airport badges and airport driving documentation. - Monitor alarms and/or incidents requiring emergency authorities and record data to appropriate forms/logs. Search for data on multiple applications. Operate/monitor multi-channel radio, and audio/visual equipment. - Coordinate inter-departmental operations during emergency situations; coordinate internal and multi-agency joint response(s). - Coordinate the opening and closing of the airport (or portions of it) based on conditions, safety factors and/or emergencies. - Periodically check Federal Inspection Station and Autoclave Room (Bldg 1470) FIS and inspect facilities and ensure safe operating conditions via closed circuit television monitors. - Question callers to determine the nature and location of situations being reported; extract and record essential information, as appropriate. May provide routine non-technical information upon request and shall refer all other questions to the proper PASA individuals or department. - Dispatch all emergency management communications in accordance with standard operating protocols and procedures, to include, but not limited to, aircraft alerts to security-related calls for service , according to priority. - Coordinate disabled aircraft support/removal in the case of disabled civil aircraft. - Comply with Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulations and department policies/procedures in the transmission of all radio communications; monitor the activities of dispatched units; and receive and transmit updated information as it is received. Maintain strict radio discipline at all times. - Retrieve and accurately relay information to field units as requested. - Enter all incident and significant calls in the daily events log. Maintain various automated and manual spreadsheets. - Retrieve and accurately relay information to airport operations, maintenance and other non-public safety units, as requested/required. - Operate and monitor Secondary Crash Net Telephone, making proper notification to airport management as required. - Operate and test communications equipment in accordance with routine procedures. - Maintain training documents and train others when needed. - Perform avgas self-serve tank inspections and receive 100LL fuel loads from tanker. -Perform other duties or projects as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent EXPERIENCE: Closed Circuit TV Monitoring/ Some Knowledge of FAA/FAR Regulations . Prior Exposure to the aviation industry is desired. LICENSE: Class C Driver License TESTING: Must pass criminal background check and pre-employment drug test. Must pass color-vision test. SPECIAL NOTES:
