Job Description:
We are an aerospace R&D company building experimental and certified airships. We are developing and manufacturing advanced technologies to dramatically increase the capabilities and lower the cost of 21st-century airships.LTA's airships will have the ability to complement and even accelerate humanitarian disaster response and relief efforts, especially in remote areas that cannot be easily accessed by plane and boat due to limited or destroyed infrastructure. We ultimately aim to create a family of aircraft with zero emissions that would substantially reduce the global carbon footprint of aviation when used for shipping goods and moving people.We are seeking an Airship Ground Handler to assist in the safe flight and operation of our airships.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Works under the direction of the Ground Operations Manager, Crew Chief, and assigned Supervisor performing duties necessary to maintain the safe, efficient operation of the airship.
    • Participates in airship launching and landing activities, as well as the ground handling, lead, and crew chief duties as required.
    • Tends to airship systems management watch in rotational shifts with coworkers, including overnight shifts when the airship is moored on the mast.
    • Drives ground support vehicles pertinent to mission objectives.
    • Follows all safety regulations in accordance with company policies, FAA, and the Department of Transportation.
    • Assists airship mechanics and hangar technicians in performing tasks as necessary.
    • Performs hangar operations and maintenance support functions as directed.
    • Performs ground support equipment (GSE) cleaning and maintenance duties as directed.
    • Performs additional duties as directed.
    • Assists with transit operations and logistics planning as required.
    • Represents the company and airship operations in a professional and appropriate manner in all aspects on and off the job.
Required:
    • Valid driver's license
    • Clean driving record
    • Previous airship operations experience required
    • Ability to obtain a Class A CDL High school diploma or equivalent
    • Must be able to pass a TSA background checkAbility to work at heights
    • Ability to pass and maintain DOT physical and drug/alcohol screening
Preferred:
    • Valid Class A CDL
    • Boom lift, scissor lift, telehandler, forklift experience
Physical Requirements:
    • Must be capable of lifting and transporting up to 50 pounds
    • Capable of sitting or standing for long periods of time
    • Must be able to work in outdoor-type weather conditions year-round
    • Willingness to travel frequently in support of airship operations

The base range for this role is $25-40/hr, which is determined based on experience, geography, and qualifications. The base salary is one component of the total compensation package, which includes a very competitive annual bonus, 401K Match, and other generous benefits.
