Job Description:

LTA is seeking an Airship Pilot to assist the Flight Operations team to develop and test fly our latest Airship, and assist with flight training in an ABC Lightship - model A60R. In this role, you will be responsible for collaborating with Flight Test Engineers, planning and performing Flight Test activities, directing staff to ensure the Airship is ready for flight, and developing flight procedures and training programs. Our ideal candidate has been flying professionally for at least 5 years. The pilot in this position will be a key representative of LTA by displaying a professional manner at all times and following all company policies and federal safety procedures and regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrating comprehensive knowledge and flight proficiency in company's airships
  • Collaborating with engineers and pilots to plan, rehearse, and execute flight tests in a safe, effective, and efficient manner
  • Participating in briefings and providing detailed documentation of observations from flight testing
  • Ensuring regulatory and safety compliance in all operations
  • Contributing to flight training programs and providing instruction, as needed
  • Providing professional input on technical and operational considerations
  • Developing documentation for standardized processes and procedures
  • Working independently with minimal supervision in a dynamic environment
  • Displaying personal initiative to complete departmental objectives and take ownership of projects
Qualifications/Skills
  • FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate Preferred with Airship Rating; additional airplane or helicopter ratings, preferred
  • Current FAA First or Second Class medical certificate
  • Minimum 500 hours of airship experience preferred
  • Thrust Vector Control Airship experience, preferred
  • Flight test experience, preferred
  • College degree in an aerospace-related field preferred or equivalent professional development
  • Familiarity with flight training programs and instructional activities
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in airship systems, operations, and regulations
  • Strong aviation safety management, CRM, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to collaborate with engineers on technical subjects preferred.
  • Operational mindset with proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Proven abilities in multitasking and prioritization in a fast-paced environment

$150,000 - $200,000 a yearThe total compensation range for this role is $150,000 to $200,000, which is determined based on experience, geography, and qualifications. The base salary is one component of the total compensation package, which includes a very competitive annual bonus, 401K Match, and other generous benefits.
