New Milford Public Schools has an immediate opening for an MLL Tutor Support for the 2024-2025 school year - 2 Positions.

Position: Multi Lingual Learner Tutor

Hourly Rate - $18.50 per hour, no benefits.

Hours: - 9:00am-3:00pm; Monday -Thursday - hours may vary depending on location and student needs

Location -

* Sarah Noble Intermediate School - 1 Position

* Schaghticoke Middle School - 1 Position

Specifications: The MLL Tutor works in cooperation with and under the supervision of the MLL Coordinator and teachers.

Major Responsibilities:

* Assist MLL students in the mainstream area settings.

* Provide academic and organizational assistance in the completion of classwork and homework assignments.

* Provide one-on-one or small group support to help clarify difficult academic concepts presented by the teacher.

* Assist students in the organization of materials needed for class or during labs or projects.

* Communicate with teachers, administrators, pupil personnel staff or others with regard to student performance and progress.

* Administer modified tests or quizzes on behalf of the classroom teachers.

* Focus on skill-building with students, such as note-taking, outlining, graphic organizers, computation, study skills, etc.

* Assume other such duties and assignments as may be requested by the teachers or administrators.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree required

* Ability to maintain confidentiality about issues related to children and families

* Experience working in a public school desirable

* Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
