Job Description:
Position: Literacy Tutor (Part Time, 0.5FTE)
Position Available: Immediately
School District: Regional School District 13, Durham/Middlefield, Connecticut
School: Brewster Elementary School
Reports to: Building Principal
Primary Function: The Literacy Tutor will assist students in achieving student learning objectives by working directly with identified students or groups of students who need support.
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree; Experience in reading instruction strongly preferred
Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
* Work with small groups of students to improve students' reading skills
* Create a positive learning environment sensitive to students' needs
* Monitor academic progress of students
* Share student level data with the Reading Interventionist.
* Work Under the direction of the Reading Interventionist to align classroom instruction to interventionists.
* Provide information for PPTs, SAT meetings, and parent conferences to the Reading Interventionist as necessary.
Salary/Wage: Starting at $19/hr; commensurate with experience
