This position isa part of the South Carolina Rural Technical College Consortium Grant (Strengthening Community College Grant).Instruction: Provide high quality instruction, teach courses as assigned, provide students with course documentation, demonstrate effective interaction skills, relate instruction/material to course objectives, and develop various teaching techniques.Student Guidance & Assistance: Provide academic advising consistent with students intended goals, develop and implement successful retention activities, be aware of/and direct students to appropriate student support services, assist in student registration and orientation. Publicize and maintain eight (8) office hours per week. Maintain valid and current records of students progress.Instruction Development and Management: Manage classroom/lab/clinic activities in an orderly manner. Assist in preparation of budget projections for equipment and educational supplies, design new programs, revise curricula, develop new courses and update current courses based on community needs and use of assessment results. assist in the development of standards for admission, progression, and graduation of nursing students.Administration: Participate in the activities of the faculty in ways that benefit the College, the health science department, the faculty and students.College/Community service: Develop effective working relationships within the department, the college and the community. Participate in professional development, participate in community activities for the purpose of bringing education and service together for the improvement of health care.Submit goals and objectives including plans for faculty evaluation/development to the Dean of Health Science by September of each calendar year; update CV by December 1 of each calendar year and submit to Dean of Health Science; furnish evidence of chest x-ray or TB skin test and state RN licensure; maintain current CPR certification.Other duties as assigned. Minimum and Additional Requirements Master of Science degree in Nursing with a minimum of three (3) of the past five (5) years experience as a Registered Nurse in direct patient care or nursing education. Must be proficient in oral and written communication. Must be able to work independently. Must hold an unencumbered active license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of South Carolina or another compact state.
