Being an Allied Trade specialist in the United States Army is a great opportunity to get all the training you need, as well as job experience for the civilian world! The allied trade specialist is primarily responsible for supervising and performing the fabrication, repair and modification of metallic and nonmetallic parts. They operate lathes, drill presses, grinders and other machine shop equipment.
Job Duties
Training
Training for an allied trade specialist requires 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training, and 13 weeks of Advanced Individual Training with on-the-job instruction. Some of the skills youll learn are:

The skills you learn will help prepare you for a career with factories and repair shops in many industries, including the electrical product, automotive and heavy machinery industries.Those interested in this job may be eligible for civilian employment, after the Army, by enrolling in the Army PaYS program. The PaYS program is a recruitment option that guarantees a job interview with military friendly employers that are looking for experienced and trained Veterans to join their organization.
