The Aluminum Finish Operator is responsible for the safe operation of the homogenizing furnaces, cooling chamber, band saw, lathes and other equipment in the finishing area. The Finishing Operator will receive cast product from upstream production and follow the product routing to produce a finished product to the customers spec while meeting production schedules.

What you'll need:
+ High School diploma or GED
+ Ability to lift 50 pounds
+ Be able to bend and stand for extended periods of time, and withstand exposure to heat and cold
+ Able to climb in overhead structures, work beneath machines and in close quarters
+ Willing to be part of a winning team and able to work all shifts, flexible hours and mandatory overtime.
+ Manufacturing experience (preferred)
+ Ability to work 12 hour shifts
What you'll do:
+ Organization and housekeeping of the finishing and ingot storage areas
+ Receive instruction and necessary information from supervisor and control room operator, primarily working in a self-directed environment
+ Loads and unloads homogenization furnaces and cooling chamber in a timely manner and selects appropriate process
+ Operate homogenization furnaces and cooling chamber
+ Input and monitor information on homogenization furnace and cooling chamber controls
+ Sets up and operates saw(s) and lathe(s), selecting proper feeds and speeds
+ Loads and unloads machines with the aid of a forklift or overhead crane, positioning material as required
+ Unload equipment after process and delivers material to next area of operation as required
+ Places material cropping and chips in scrap boxes according to alloy.
+ Inspects the quality of the material during and after processes to make sure the piece is in spec per customer requirements using approved methods and SOP
+ Records material dimensions using appropriate measuring instruments and following SOP
+ Reports defective material and faulty equipment to the General Manager or Maintenance Department immediately
+ Identifies all material handled by stamping or marking with necessary identification when required as specified
+ Maintains communication about product schedule with the control room operator
+ Aid in scheduling work flow through area
+ Completes paperwork and inputs information into the computer system, to track products through process
+ Performs basic maintenance inspections and care on machines.
+ Check and maintain all equipment in proper working condition
+ Check thermocouples for proper operation and change as required
+ Maintains a clean and safe work environment
+ Abides by all plant safety regulations and work rules
+ Maintain inventory of needed supplies, etc. to perform duties
